Washington Youth Tour
Each year Slash Pine EMC selects two area students to participate in an all-expenses paid summer trip to Washington D.C. These students will join more than 1,500 youth representing 800 other electric cooperatives from across the nation. This annual event teaches students about the values every electric cooperative brings to their respected communities, to promote civic involvement, see our government in action, experience how careers in public service are a great contribution to our way of life, including an opportunity to visit with their legislators. A life time experience packed with fun activities surrounded by exciting tours of Washington D.C.’s monuments and museums.
